PARAPHRASING

What is Paraphrasing?

Paraphrasing is the process of restating a text and conveying its meaning in another form while maintaining the original message.

Steps in Paraphrasing:

  1. Read and Understand – Read the passage multiple times until you fully comprehend its meaning.
  2. Write Without Looking – Rewrite the text in your own words without referring to the original passage.
  3. Avoid Plagiarism – Ensure that you use your own words and ideas while restating the information.
  4. Verify Accuracy – Compare your paraphrased text with the original passage to confirm that all essential information is retained and that no misinterpretations have occurred.
Note: Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own. Proper paraphrasing helps prevent plagiarism.
